didja try to reboot and rebuild? run techtool (there's a free version) or other disk utilities?
better yet ... come over here and use MY mac ;)
Maybe when you're feeling the way you did in the post "Stuck" or in yesterday's, when you were so tired of going through the same old motions, you should visualize the little multicolored Spinning Wheel of Doom superimposed over your whole life. Maybe that'll give you the necessary incentive to reboot the system, call Technical Support, or just give it a whack and see what happens.
